Taryn Leonard teaches woodwinds and piano. She specializes in doubling on multiple woodwinds and loves to focus her teaching on theory, improvisation, and proper breathing techniques. Taryn is very experienced in preparing her students to play auditions for college, performing groups, and honor bands. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance and minors in Music Theory and Mathematics. Taryn also studied Physics at University of Maryland College Park. When she isn't teaching, she serves as the Director of Common Ground Community Art for Beacon House, Inc., a non-profit organization that promotes STEAM education at the local level. She also enjoys travelling with her daughter Molly.
